The Science Museum In St. Paul

The Science Museum In St. Paul  – Great Adventure

St. Paul, Minn. – The Science Museum of Minnesota is gearing up for a fall season of science learning and fun, all set to kick off in time for this fall’s school release days. Rocky Mountain Express will make its giant screen debut in the William L. McKnight-3M Omnitheater, the Mazes exhibit will get visitors young and old working together to navigate a variety of mindbending puzzles and passages, and a variety of special events will allow them to explore forensics, fossils, Halloween science, and more.

Rocky Mountain Express Omnitheater film
Through rugged, untamed wilderness, a courageous crew took on a seemingly impossible task: building a railway that would connect remote towns across the Canadian continent. This fall, Omnitheater viewers will witness this extraordinary project on the only screen large enough to capture its scale. Rocky Mountain Express opens in the Omnitheater on October 13.

Viewers will take a seat on board an early 20th-century steam engine and explore one of the greatest engineering feats in modern history. The story will come to life for viewers of all ages through aerial footage of the breathtaking Canadian Rockies, maps and archival images, and the stirring energy and rhythms of a live steam locomotive. Viewers will see the sights, feel the sound, and experience the spectacle of a transcontinental journey that shaped a nation.

Mazes exhibit
This fall, Science Museum visitors will find fun around every corner in the brand new Mazesexhibit. They’ll maneuver their way through a collection of mind-bending adventures, 3D puzzles, and full-body games, joining fellow visitors in a fun quest to perfect their problem-solving skills and cultivate their creativity!

Visitors will climb through an intricate rope maze, wind their way through an elaborate floor maze, run a marathon with their fingers in a finger maze, get lost in a network of color in a color maze, and use all they’ve learned to create their own maze for others to navigate. Mazes will test their perceptions and challenge their logic and reasoning in a collaborative, silly, and fun way.
